Job Title: Content Editor

Location: Main Office – Angora Minnesota

Work Type: Full Time (40hrs) employment, 9am – 5pm Monday – Friday


As a content editor, you will be responsible for writing original pieces of work for different industries, as well as our Art Unlimited team. Check out our blog for an example of our writing style and what type of information you could be writing about.

You will also be writing content for websites, placing content within websites, and learning how to format it properly. This means you’ll  also be learning some basic coding! (Don’t worry, our programming team does all the heavy lifting, and they are incredibly patient with the rest of us when we ask them questions!)

You will work with a project manager to interview clients about the content they would like written in their website. You will be responsible for the organizing the content portion of the web development process.

You will be responsible for working with a series of different writers in which you will give direction to their writing, understand the client’s needs that they are writing for, and review their work to ensure it meets our standard of quality.

In working with both the marketing team and the programming team, you will get a full on view of what it takes to write for the digital world. We will teach you how to write search engine optimized content, understand the value of keywords, and even teach you to have an eye for the user experience in the way your information should flow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create 1-2 free resources each month to drive leads, subscribers, awareness, and/or other important metrics (examples include ebooks, whitepapers, infographics, guides, etc.).
  • Blog on an ongoing basis in support of your other projects and to attract site visitors through search, social, and our email subscribers.
  • Grow our client’s subscriber base by providing them regular, helpful content that’s in-tune with their needs.
  • Collaborate with designers, product marketing, sales, and external influencers and industry experts to produce relevant content that meets the needs of both key stakeholders and our audience.
  • Convince others that your creative ideas are worth investing time and effort in. This role is at the core of the marketing team, and others will rely on your work every single day.
  • Brainstorm new campaign and content ideas for our with the marketing team.

Ideal Candidates:

Education: Possesses knowledge and experience of online marketing. Two or four year degree preferred in Marketing/Communication/Business/English/Education.

Experience: Must display an excellent knowledge and understanding of the English language and learn to utilize platforms for curating content, developing content within websites, and maintaining an organizational structure of tasks to be completed. In-house training for software is available for qualified applicant.

Technical skills: Applicant must have exceptional internet and computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, and be able to use both Mac and PC platforms.

Communication Skills: Written communication skills essential. Interpersonal communication skills required for technical support with clients and team members. Self-directed when confronted with support issues. Ability to manage details, be flexible and have efficient work habits.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit and work on a computer for 8 hours daily. Must be able to verbally communicate with clients or team members by phone or in person.

Other skills: Applicant must be able to be productive in a fast-paced work environment. dual-minded approach: You’re highly creative and an excellent writer but can also be process-driven, think scale, and rely on data to make decisions. Time-sensitive projects must be completed within deadlines. Must be able to work on team-based projects. Occasionally work more than 40 hours as needed.
